Sukhraj Narwal Named April Player of the Month
April’s Player of the Month honours go to Sukhraj Narwal, who delivered an absolutely dominant performance that set him apart from the rest of the Nanaimo Ball Hockey League.
In just two games for the Huskies, Narwal piled up 11 points, 4 goals and 7 assists, good for an eye-popping 5.5 points-per-game average. Despite the limited sample size, his playmaking and overall production were unmatched.
He finished the month leading the league in assists, points and points-per-game.
What stood out most was how effortlessly he controlled the flow of the game. Narwal wasn’t just putting up numbers—he was driving offense every shift. His vision allowed him to consistently find teammates in scoring positions, while his finishing touch ensured defenders couldn’t key in on just one aspect of his game. Seven assists in two games speaks to his unselfishness and awareness, constantly creating opportunities where others might not even see them.
At the same time, his four goals proved he could take over when needed, capitalizing on openings and delivering in key moments. Opponents had little answer for his versatility; overcommit to stopping the pass, and he’d score. Give him space, and he’d pick defenses apart.
While others had strong full-month performances, no one matched the sheer impact Narwal had in his appearances. In just two games, he made a league-leading impression, more than enough to earn April’s Player of the Month distinction.
