Victoria Sanctioned Ball Hockey League announces three stars of the week one.
1st Star – Garrett Dunlop, Devils
Garrett Dunlop earned the Victoria Sanctioned Ball Hockey League’s First Star of the Week honours after leading the Victoria Devils to victory with a standout four-point performance. Dunlop scored two goals and added two assists, playing a key role in the Devils’ offensive attack and helping guide his team to a 5-2 win in their season-opening action.
2nd Star – Grady Veary, Island Railers
Grady Veary earned Second Star of the Week honours after delivering a consistent offensive presence for the Raiders during the opening week of the Victoria Sanctioned Ball Hockey League season. Veary capped off the Raiders’ convincing 6-2 win over the Tsunami by scoring the team’s final goal of the game, helping seal the strong season-opening performance. He followed that effort with a goal and an assist against the Devils, continuing to contribute offensively despite the Raiders falling 5-2 in the second game of their doubleheader. With three points in two games, Veary played an important role in the Raiders’ attack and emerged as one of the league’s top performers during opening week.
3rd Star – Luke Wilson, Devils
Luke Wilson earned Third Star of the Week honours after turning in an outstanding playmaking performance in ball hockey action, helping lead the Devils to a 5-2 victory over the Reds in the Victoria Sanctioned Ball Hockey League. Wilson paced the Devils’ offence with three assists, consistently creating scoring opportunities and setting up key finishes for his teammates throughout the game.
His vision and ball movement stood out as he helped drive the team’s attack from start to finish, playing a central role in multiple scoring plays that built the Devils’ lead. Wilson’s strong all-around effort was a major factor in the win and earned him recognition as one of the league’s top performers during opening week.
